First Day of School

We had a GREAT first day of school today!  It was so great to meet our students and start getting to know each other.  We spent a lot of time today talking about how things work at Braxton, and practicing procedures.  Then we had some fun team time with a scavenger hunt and icee pops!

Happy supposed-to-be-Spring-Break Week!

So I had a great time in the snow, but I have to admit, it sure would be nice to have this week off to rest my brain and recharge to finish up the rest of the school year.  We have some great activities ahead of us, so I hope every student will make the best of the time we have left. 

Do you have any suggestions for how students, teachers, and/or parents can help everyone continue learning right up until the end of the year without "Spring Fever" taking over?  Please share your ideas, so we can try some out.

Lang Arts April Fools

There were no fools in language arts class today. We did great activities on the computers! We created a Wordle to help us summarize a story we read about a boy who escaped the Holocaust. Next we created posters for our current vocabulary words. The posters turned out GREAT, I was so impressed!!!

Tuesday March 30

Today we began reading "The Devil's Arithmetic" in Lang Arts. We discussed some background about the Holocaust as well. Students seem to be quite interested in the book so far. I hope that through reading the book and discussing the related history, students will learn why it is so important to remember the past as we work for a better future.
